To create an identity for a farmer's co-operative in Andhra Pradesh, India for a range of packaged foods, a unique design approach was adopted to set it apart from the usual supermarket brands.

Turbulent times often push the human mind to think, explore, design and create.

Keeping ‘natural’ as the primary message to be communicated, a distinct visual language was created using watercolour illustrations of exotic women as the dominant visual on all the packaging.

The design approach for the packaging speaks a smart, uncluttered, stand out language which is a breakthrough in the Indian market.

Design, especially in India has come a long way in establishing itself as a serious career choice.  Till a couple of decades back design was seen as a hobby or ‘interest’ and

not a means to accomplish career goals

and definitely not something that was financially viable.

While the fundamental tenets of design remain constant, design continuously evolves as it responds to developments in technology and changes in social behaviour.

The idea was to be honest and believable. The organic quality comes through the use of kraft board, tin, and other recycled paper. The presentation is credible and the pedantic quality is offset by jewel like story-book illustrations.The design was kept simple, relatable and relevant to the product.

As an entirely imported product concept,

it was creating a category of its own on the Indian retail shelves and the design

had to present that difference clearly

to the consumer.

The unique design approach, vibrant graphics and colours made Biotique colour cosmetics stand out in a cluttered retail environment.

This century belongs to creativity and innovation. In everything we do. Our engagement to shape our future has become intense and pervasive. Design is omnipresent.

When it comes to design, whether it’s print or digital graphic design, trends often rule the day and dictate the market. They possess the power to change the way we look at brands and their approach to aesthetics. 

Starting from scratch isn’t that big a deal. Putting in your hundred percent, grabbing the right opportunities and administering patience go a long way in the evolutionary development of an idea.
